Sundays are special at Cubbon Park
The cycling day in Cubbon Park is not only about cycling but also having fun with family. Hope the theme never changes in the future. This time we had great fun because we cycled, explored the park in a buggy and also got a free art.
We stood in a line to grab a free cycle which was issued by Atcag BikeShare. Though the line was short, it was a long wait because there were no enough cycles.
The free cycle system in Cubbon Park works like this – you got to submit your ID proof and take the cycle for round. Once done, give back the cycle and take your ID. Good system, isn’t it? Two to three guys are running the show (free cycle system) but there has to be lot more improvements.
They have to keep more quality cycles to encourage cycling and reduce waiting time. I saw some visitors bringing their own cycles to Cubbon Park. Not everybody can afford to do that.
While having fun cycling, we came across some art students distributing a copy of their art free of cost. I thought they were promoting something but no. There was no banner, no logo, and no names, nothing… Just Art!
I questioned them why they were giving out free art? The answer was “just like that.” Great! The drawings were really awesome. The students were from Srishti Art Academy, Yelahanka (Bengaluru).
Electric Buggy (for sightseeing)
We took a round in the electric buggy, inside Cubbon Park. The driver also acted as a guide and threw out some information (basic) about the heritage buildings and gardens. The charge for the electric buggy was Rs. 60 for adults and Rs. 30 for children.

Sheshadri Iyer Memorial Hall
The Sheshadri Iyer Memorial Hall inside the Cubbon Park is a State Central Library.
The Vidhana Soudha is a State Legislature and Secretariat Building. This amazing building is one of my favorite subjects for photography.
High Court (Attara Kacheri)
This is a High Court also known as Attara Kacheri building (earlier). This is Bengaluru’s one of the oldest buildings standing just in front of Vidhana Soudha and near one of the gates of Cubbon Park.
Sunday Dog Show
Not really a dog show but one gets to see different breeds of dogs here (every Sunday).
That’s it! Hope you had a great Sunday.
